Here in the Carolinas we have been having a run of some gorgeous weather. I mean extra special beautiful fill your heart with joy gorgeous. It makes me happy and makes me want to spread a little happiness so I decided to run a little winter special. With every paid session fee receive a $60 print credit to use when you order. Maternity and newborn sessions are excluded from this offer (sorry). So if you have been thinking of booking a session but keep putting it off (because let’s face it…life gets in the way somtimes, doesn’t it) put it off no longer and get in touch with me and reserve your session now. If you like we can get together over coffee or tea (and a yummy sweet) and we can talk about your dream photos for you and your children. Zoe at Eleven Days [Asheville Newborn Photography]

Eleven days new. So fresh. So perfect. Tiny toes and fingers just as delicate as you can imagine. She is so sweet. I could have cradled her in my arms all day. Thank you Mom, Dad and Zach for letting me spend the day with you. For putting up with an uncomfortably hot house. For moving furniture. For the tall glasses of ice water. For the tiny diapers for my little girl to use on her baby dolls. For moving my van closer during the pouring rain. But most importantly, for letting me be a small part of your life during a most magical, special time. Here is a little peek of some of the images captured. I hope you enjoy them.

Awaiting the Princess [Asheville Newborn and Maternity Photography]

I love maternity sessions. It is so fun and exciting to be a small part in the excitement during the last weeks of pregnancy. I felt an instant connection with this mom. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that we both are crazy about the color purple. Or maybe because we both enjoy cooking and learning about natural remedies. Or maybe it was because she is just a really, really nice person. It was just so easy and comfortable spending time with her and her adorable son and easy-going husband. The yard was full of beautiful flowers and there were hammocks under the trees. Such a peaceful and lovely environment. But yet again, I had to deal with some scary thunder and a few bolts of lightning. My stars I do attract the storms. Despite the threatening storms we had a great time and I love the images I captured. I hope you all enjoy them too. I can’t wait to see you all again when your little girl has arrived. It won’t be long now.

Cayman ~ Six Months [Greenville SC Baby Photography]

I cannot believe that six months has already passed since I did the newborn photos for this little Miss. Oh how they change in that short time. Now she is sitting and even loving to walk while holding onto mom and dads hands. Poor mom and dad are going to have an early walker on their hands I think. As usual, my summer outdoor sessions always seem to involve some crazy threat of a bad thunderstorm and this time was no exception. We had to take cover as the rain just poured down and the skies were dark. We waited it out though and managed to get some more shots in albeit on some very wet ground. Cayman took it all in stride. She is such a doll baby but no matter what we all did we could not get a big smile out of her. Such a serious little girl when the camera comes out. Still adorable and beautiful though. What a wonderful age six months is! Enjoy this sneak peek of our rainy day mom, dad, and grandparents. Thank you mom for being so well prepared and bringing so many props and darling outfits. And thanks Grandpa for being our chauffeur around the campus.

Tommy is Turning 8 years old [Greenville Children's Photography]

It is hard to believe that an entire year has gone by since I had the privilege of capturing Tommy’s seventh birthday photos. You can find the blog post of that session here. As I edited these pictures I was really struck with how much he has changed in the year. He is definitely looking more grown up now. He is clearly the joy of his parents’ life and I can completely understand why. For this session we met up at USC Spartanburg (Upstate) because this is where mom and dad went to school together. They like to choose locations for their photos that have meaning to them and are places that they have spent time at. I am hoping for next year when Tommy turns nine that Paris or St. Barts or New Zealand or London or the South of France happen to be on their list of places that mean something to them too. Ha ha. Wouldn’t that be fun to really, REALLY go on location for the photo shoot? Anyway, while I sit here dreaming of faraway exotic places I hope you all enjoy this little peek at our session that took place right here in the Upstate of South Carolina where it is now ridiculously hot and humid.

Sister, Sister [Asheville Children's Photographer]

I first worked with this family a bit over a year ago to do mom’s maternity pictures. That was followed up with a newborn session and now a year later we did a “sisters” session. With birthdays only weeks apart big sister just turned five and baby sister turned one recently. These two girls put a smile on my face. What beautiful faces they have! With the bluest eyes and the prettiest blond hair they look like beautiful dolls. Baby sister is walking so I was anticipating a challenging session. What a pleasant surprise to find that she was a very cooperative walking one year old. No chasing was necessary. I loved this hay field behind their home. Such an inspiring place with the late afternoon sun. Enjoy this little peek at our afternoon together.

Double the Sweetness [Greenville Newborn Photography]

Call me crazy but even after having five children I still would love to have twins. So it was a double treat for me to meet these two precious little ones. They are such beautiful babies (boy and girl) born full term and positively perfect. I loved how mom and dad were just bursting with pride over their children and rightfully so. They are gorgeous! I owe a huge thanks to fellow photographer Julie of Jelliebeanz Photography . She is very talented and I could not have done this shoot without her help. One newborn is an incredible amount of work to photograph let alone two so I am very thankful to have had an extra set of hands. And also a big thanks to mom, dad and grandma for their patience, trust and willingness to help. I had a wonderful time and wish you all the best with your new little ones. Mom wanted to get some shots of babies with the blankets that their great grandma made. Each blanket was beautiful and I know they are a treasure.

The Family That Plays Together…. [Greenville Family Photographer]

The weather on this spring day was so on and off again that we almost decided to reschedule because of the threat of rain. Well I am glad that we went ahead and took the chance, because although it was quite chilly for late May in the Carolinas we never did see a drop of rain during the time we were together. Oh but the light did mess with us a bit. Very cloudy one second and then bright sun, then a bit of clouds and on and on the cycle went. Made for some challenges but we still had fun. It comes as no surprise that the three generations here are soooo good looking when you see the beautiful grandparents. And the youngest one of the bunch at only two and a half was such an incredibly good child, so dog gone cute and was amazingly good at taking direction. Let’s say he is definitely comfortable in front of the camera. I hope you all enjoyed yourself walking around the arboretum with me. I also hope you enjoy this bit of a peek at our time together. Thanks so much for spending that chilly late afternoon with me and being so much fun to work with!

A Few More of the Beautiful Kids [Greenville Children's Photography]

This is a bit of a continuation of my last post entitled “Family Ties”. Before these kids had to head back home (they were here over their school break visiting grandparents) we got together for a quick session for just a few more shots. The day was very, very overcast so it was a bit of a challenge to find some good light but these kids are so good looking that they made my job of creating beautiful images so much easier. Family Ties [Greenville Children's Photographer]

These kids are pretty much what we call “Irish twins”. You know…they are just around a year apart. Goodness I can’t imagine how busy life must have been for those first few years. Now they are at that perfect age. The time between childhood and the preteen years. A time so brief and so magical that every moment must be enjoyed before it has gone away from us forever.

Brother is so care-free and just downright funny. Full of antics and joy of life. Sister is about the sweetest, most feminine little girl ever. And wow, what a beauty! I hated that the sun had set and our time photographing was now over. These kids were just so refreshingly young and sweet and well mannered. I hope you all enjoy your sneak peek as much as I enjoyed my time with you! Thank you dad and grandpa for fixing my reflector and moving heavy flower pots.
