Oh to be 18 again. And beautiful. I love working with teens and graduating seniors. This pretty girl already graduated high school and is now taking college courses and has a busy schedule. I am so happy that she found some time to let me capture her beauty during this wonderful time of her life. This is just a quick peek into that session. There are a few more blog posts planned that will include more.

When this beautiful girl asked me to take a few pictures of her when she turned seventeen there was no way I could say no. The day was very overcast but we still managed to get some lovely shots I believe. Little sister wanted in on the action so of course we let her get in a few of the shots. I just big puffy heart love these girls.
But oh how I wish I was seventeen again. Or at least looked like it.

I have been so lucky with my clients. I truly get the nicest clients in the world. This wonderful family was no exception. The two kids were so well mannered and so cooperative. Brother wants to be a professional drummer and I can totally see him doing that. I am sure mom and dad will be thrilled with the years of practice in their home.
Sister is still not sure what she wants to do but I have a feeling that super model may be an option for her someday. Has anyone else noticed how much prettier teen girls are now than back in the days of the dinosaurs when I was a teen? Goodness she is beautiful!
I hope you all enjoy this little peek of our afternoon together. I think the traffic jams and the dodging then chasing the right light was all worth it.
Mom and dad you have beautiful, beautiful children!

I have known Aubree’ since before she was in kindergarten. I can’t believe that now she is graduating high school! She was an adorable child and now she is a gorgeous young woman. A beautiful girl inside and out. I know her family is so proud of her. She now lives a few states away from me but we made arrangements to do her senior pictures for her recently. Actually we had so much fun that we are planning on doing another shoot within the next few weeks. I can’t wait!
I hope you enjoy your sneak peek. Thanks for being such a good sport and putting up with the hot sun, weeds, wasps and everything else.

This is my daughter’s good friend who is graduating high school early. She is one of the best “kids” around and we just love her. Her parents are so proud of her as they should be. I have to say what a good sport she is too….we have had the most wicked cold winter in NC this year and she was still game to take pics outside. Thanks J.!

A weekend with 10 women I had never met before and a bunch of willing models = heaven. Especially when the 10 women are great photographers and lots of fun to be with. I wish it could have gone on for a week instead of just a weekend. We must plan another one of these get togethers soon girls. We really must.
We got to spend an entire afternoon in a great little town with a bunch of fun loving kids and teens. They were all so patient with us photogs as we posed them. They even jumped many times over so we could all “get the shot”. Thanks so much to each and every one of you!
Here are a few pics from that afternoon.

And just to give us a change of a pace…..

Not to be left out here is the most experienced model of the group. Her mom is a great photographer so it isn’t any wonder that she knew just how to work the camera.

How many times did you jump that afternoon? What a trooper!

We really froze this poor guy. The sun was almost down and the wind was freezing. Ash’s mom and I were bundled up in coats but Ash braved the cold at times in a t-shirt for some pictures. We decided to have this be a mini session and finish up another day when hopefully it isn’t quite so cold and windy. Ash you were such a good sport. Thanks!! I hope you like your sneak peek. The rest will be up soon. (promise! LOL)

Fifteen years ago when I was pregnant with my fourth child, my husband and I were having one of those late night talks and we calculated that someday we would have three teenagers in the house at the same time. Whoa! That seemed scary. How would we survive?! But at the time those years still seemed so far off. However, as parents especially understand, the years pass far too quickly. Legos, Tonka trucks, baby dolls and ballet shoes are all too soon replaced by cell phones, driver’s licenses, make up and iPods. Those late nights where we walked the floors with a croupy baby are gone. Now we lie awake at night waiting for those headlights to appear in the drive, to hear their key in the door. My second son turns twenty today. Those years of having three teenagers in our home at the same time are now over as quickly as they came upon us. And I am happy to say that not only did we survive those years but we enjoyed them far more than I could have imagined. So yesterday I did a quick photo session in our backyard to honor those years. At first they all grumbled but soon we were all laughing and having fun. It was over within an hour but I will remember it always. Thank you my three middle ones for giving me this moment. And for giving me memories that in the years to come will bring a tear to my eye and a smile on my face.
