Yesterday in North Carolina it felt decidedly like Spring had arrived. Today, not so much. And later this week we have a possibility of a rain/snow mix. So much for Spring weather it seems. But I am sure that it will arrive and soon blossoms will be bursting forth and the birds will sing and the sun will shine and children and dogs will run crazy circles in the yard.  And it will stay around for a while. I promise. So plan now to celebrate that with a mini session. I am offering a 30 minute session (outdoor only) with five digital files (delivered via download), and a release to print to your heart’s content for only $250. This is good for a group of up to 6 persons but does not include the newborn session. Anyone that has been around a newborn session knows that a mini would be impossible. hehe.  This would be great for a family session or a baby or a mommy and me or a maternity session. And dads listen up….mom would love this as a gift. You would be her super hero.  And on the flip side I bet it would make everyone’s heart  happy to have a daddy and me session. Just sayin…
I will be scheduling only a limited amount of these minis….my spring is already quite busy. So don’t delay in reserving your spot now. More fine print:  the $250 fee must be paid for at least two weeks in advance of the session and the session must take place on or before May 15, 2014.  You will be provided with a gallery of at least 10 images from which to choose your five digital files. Location for session will be outdoor and within 15ish miles of Tryon, NC.

So don’t delay. Spring will be here. Really it will. It will. It will. Keep repeating that and carry on.

I am finally getting around to blogging this beautiful family’s maternity session. I had the sweet privilege of shooting big sister’s newborn session three years ago. I cannot believe how the years have flown by! Now she is one of the brightest little girls I have encountered. What fun to talk with her and marvel at how well spoken she is. I think it is quite apparent in her photos just how much personality she has. I loved photographing her.  Look how gorgeous this family is while they are waiting on baby sister to arrive. What a lovely day this was. Enjoy!

This is a combination maternity and family session and is actually the third time I have worked with them. The first was a maternity also. And the second was for the newborn of their youngest girl. I can’t tell you how happy I was when I got an email from mom that she was expecting again (a boy this time after three girls).  They are all so beautiful and so easy to work with that I pretty much did a happy dance to hear the news. This is still a catch up blog post because I am still quite a bit behind. Enjoy the pics and stay tuned because I will be posting some pics from their newborn session very soon too.

Isn’t mom just the most gorgeous pregnant woman?

I love maternity sessions. It is so fun and exciting to be a small part in the excitement during the last weeks of pregnancy.  I felt an instant connection with this mom. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that we both are crazy about the color purple. Or maybe because we both enjoy cooking and learning about natural remedies. Or maybe it was because she is just a really, really nice person. It was just so easy and comfortable spending time with her and her adorable son and easy-going husband.  The yard was full of  beautiful flowers and there were  hammocks under the trees. Such a peaceful and lovely environment.  But  yet again, I had to deal with some scary thunder and a few bolts of lightning.  My stars I do attract the storms.  Despite the threatening storms we had a great time and I love the images I captured. I hope you all enjoy them too. I can’t wait to see you all again when your little girl has arrived. It won’t be long now. :-)

Look how adorable Zach is with that beautiful head of red curls.

Doesn’t she have the perfect belly?

I have known this mama for quite a few years now… before she graduated high school, before she could drive, before her husband, and before she became a mom.  It makes me so happy to see her with her little family now. A devoted husband, a darling little boy and a baby girl on the way (soon!).  What more can we ask for? So it is with a smile on my face that I put up this new blog post. I can’t wait to see  this baby girl because if she is even half as cute as her big brother she is going to be sooooo adorable!!

Pickles and ice cream cravings is no old wives’ tale. Okay, so maybe it isn’t always pickles and or ice cream but it is always something. I remember craving Olive Garden salads with my boy pregnancies. I almost single handedly put Olive Garden out of business. I just could not get enough of it and kept those waitresses running for refills. I also remember wanting to drink Squirt soda…that grapefruit soda. And then with my girls it was chocolate. Anything chocolate. I always had at least a half gallon of organic chocolate milk in my refrigerator and my family knew never ever to touch it. No one should ever be so foolish as to get between me and my chocolate…especially when I was pregnant. But collard greens? This was a new one for me. Oh wait! Not for me!! No. I am NOT the one pregnant. Don’t want to start that rumor going around. But this gorgeous, glowing young woman here is pregnant and she craves collard greens. We just had to capture a few images for her with those beloved collard greens. :-) I had such a wonderful time with this beautiful couple. They were so kind and gracious and I can hardly wait to see them again and do their newborn session. I just know he is going to be a doll baby.
Enjoy your sneak peek!

Waiting…but not for long I am sure.  From what mom told me it sounds like baby will be here very soon.  And who of us who have had babies have had the good luck to look this good when so close to delivering? Goodness she looks like a super model!!  Such a beautiful mom to be! I hope you like your sneak peek. I know it won’t be long until we see each other again.

You can imagine my delight when I was met at the door by these two gorgeous, adorable girls and their beautiful mom (who is expecting baby girl number 3 soon). What a lucky daddy that lives in this home to be surrounded by these beautiful girls.  I had such fun spending some time on a late summer afternoon with them. I can’t wait to meet the new baby girl soon. What a wonderful life she will have with these two sweet girls as her big sisters.
I hope you enjoy this little sneak peek of our session. :-)

Have you ever seen a more perfect belly?

Remember the first session I had some weeks back with these beautiful parents-to-be? You can find it here.  Well we finally got to their “studio” session and  here is a little sneak peek of the fun we had. This mom is sooo beautiful and has the most perfect skin. I am so jealous of her tan. I look downright sickly next to her. :-) Rhylie should be here in a few weeks and we are all anxiously awaiting her debut.  Stay tuned for her newborn session. We know she is going to be beautiful. How can she not be with such a gorgeous family line behind her?

Soon to be three generations here.  Beautiful women!

This baby is so lucky to have these two as her parents. They are so much fun and so beautiful and so perfect for each other. I can only imagine how beautiful Rhylie is going to be. I can’t wait for her arrival so I can do her newborn session. I predict she will have big beautiful eyes, perfect lips and a head full of gorgeous dark hair.

Actually this is only part A of their maternity session. We will be doing part B in a few weeks and most of that will be shot indoors. So stay tuned for those pics.

I hope you enjoy your sneak peek. I know you had to wait a bit for it. Thanks for  your patience. :-)
