This year in the Carolinas the autumn has seemed to linger a bit longer and I am not complaining. So many lovely days. Perfect days to take a walk in the woods or a stroll through a field. Winter will be upon us soon so it was such a pleasure to spend a few hours with this family enjoying some of the last days of fall. Little brother was such a personality! He had so much energy and so many fun faces. I can’t wait to show mom and dad all of his pictures that seem to capture his boyish exuberance. And sister was so sweet and so cooperative. I love her dreamy blue eyes. She brought some fun kid glasses and I couldn’t resist getting some shots of her with them on. I hope you enjoy this little sneak peek of our afternoon together. Thanks so much for letting me spend this time with you.

So what do you do with twin one year old boys who are both walking? How do you dodge the bright sunlight, get good eye contact, keep them in one place AND keep them happy? Well, to be honest we probably didn’t really accomplish all of that but we did have fun trying. Poor Mr. Q was just not feeling it that afternoon as he was still recovering from a cold. He wanted only to be in Mama’s arms. Mr. R was more content but so serious that I could just not get a big smile out of him. So we put them in a wagon…which worked for a couple of minutes. Then we tried a little chair. Hmmmm. That worked for a couple of seconds. So when all else fails enlist Daddy to pick them up and hold them. Despite the challenges it was really a fun time getting to know this family and these adorable little boys. They were so sweet and so loved. I hope you enjoy this little peek of our sunny afternoon together.

I was so excited to meet with this family because I have already had the pleasure of working with them back in July when I did Mr. T’s seven year portrait session. This time it was not only Mr. T, but also mom and dad and the grandparents. Mr.T is so handsome so of course he has a beautiful family as well. It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining and the skies were blue. The weather feeling like autumn with slightly cool temperatures. What better way to spend the afternoon than with this fun family at The Carl Sandburg Home in Flat Rock, NC. This location has been a favorite of theirs for years so it made perfect sense to do their family session there. I really had a great time and I hope they did too. Thanks for letting this “Yankee” feel like I was a part of your beautiful family for a brief time on that gorgeous autumn day.

Okay so not really any puppy dog tails here. However, there is one adorable boy to put up on my blog today. I had the sweet pleasure of photographing Little Mr. B again. I did mom’s maternity and then did his newborn pics when he wasn’t even two weeks old. I just love when I get to see “my” babies again and be amazed at how much they have grown and changed in what seems like the blink of an eye. Little Mr. B was still one of the most mild tempered and sweetest baby boys around. He was so happy when we set him down on the ground to play with the leaves. So quietly he would contemplate them before popping one in his mouth. He was such a doll and so nice to photograph. So easy to see why he is so adored by mom and dad. Here is a bit of a peek at our session. I hope you enjoy it!
So every time that mom would hold him I would think, Oh! he looks just like her! But then when dad would hold him I would think, Oh! he looks just like him! LOL. So what do you think, does he look more like mom or dad?

I have been so lucky with my clients. I truly get the nicest clients in the world. This wonderful family was no exception. The two kids were so well mannered and so cooperative. Brother wants to be a professional drummer and I can totally see him doing that. I am sure mom and dad will be thrilled with the years of practice in their home. Sister is still not sure what she wants to do but I have a feeling that super model may be an option for her someday. Has anyone else noticed how much prettier teen girls are now than back in the days of the dinosaurs when I was a teen? Goodness she is beautiful!
I hope you all enjoy this little peek of our afternoon together. I think the traffic jams and the dodging then chasing the right light was all worth it. Mom and dad you have beautiful, beautiful children!
